I have a book that I can view on my iPad and iPhone but on my Mac I get an error.

I purchased the book on iBooks Mac and then downloaded it on my iPad and iPhone and have been reading the book (Words of Radiance-Brandon Sanderson) just fine. But when I try to download and open it on iBooks on my Macbook Pro it downloads and then when I open it I get the following error. "This book can't be opened. The original file can't be found." When I click okay the cloud symbol appears on the top right side.

I have tried to deauthorize and reauthorize, log out and back in, nothing changes the problem.

iBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Also just realized that this is not isolated to one book. Downloaded some free books from the iBookstore and had the same problem. I am going to rename and then re-install iBooks... Okay, osX does not allow the program to be removed. I really have no idea what to do here. Anyone who can help at all please chime in.

Just for fun I tried to open one of those books again today and it worked! Not sure if apple fixed something or if this is the result of some sort of an automatic update. No updates to iBooks since I last could not read the book. Thanks Apple!

Whatever was done has now been undone. I am back where I started. Can totally view the books on ipad and iphone but not on iBooks.
