iMessage replies not visible on Mac

I started an iMessage conversation on my mac to an iPad user. When she replies, those replies arrive on my iPhone, but not on my Mac. When I view the conversation on my iPhone all messages there. Both the messages I sent through my Mac and the replies I got back from that iPad user. But on my Mac, when I view the conversation, I can only see the messages I sent using the Mac. No replies. So the conversation is incomplete on the Mac. What's wrong?

Did some more testing sending/receiving some messages in a row. When I send on my Mac or iPhone, that also goes well. But when she replies back it's 50/50. One message will arive on my Mac (and iPhone, where they always arrive), the next won't and will get a 'not delivered' on her iPad (though it does arrive on my iPhone), the next will arrive on my Mac again, the next 2 don't, etc etc. See the screenshot below on her iPad. The top message did arrive on my Mac, the 2nd was my response and the 3rd her next which didn't arrive on my Mac (did on my iPhone though, but because it didn't on my Mac it got that red 'not delivered' text).

Any ideas what could occassionally block her messages on my Mac?

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.

Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:

Messages Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out

and on the iPhone:

Settings Messages Send & Receive Apple ID ▹ Sign out

Then, on the phone, tap

Use Your Apple ID for iMessage

Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

I already signout out of iMessage on both the iPHone and Mac and signed in again. Doesn't seem to help. When I send a message on my mac it appears both as 'delivered' at the Mac and iPhone. The response however only appears on the iPhone. So the Mac only contains the sent messages in of the conversation.

When I've got iMessage open on the Mac, the one sending to me reads 'could not be delevered' on her iPad. It appears on my iPhone however. But I guess as 'not delivered' because it doesn't arrive on my Mac. When I close iMessage on the Mac, the one sending get 'delivered'.

Somehow all her messages don't get delivered on my Mac's conversation. That's why it appears to her as 'not delivered' though it does arrive on my iPhone.

Yes, it is. And both my telephone number and email address are linked to iMessages and identical on my iPhone and my Mac.

Just tried it with someone else and here reply arrives on both my iPhone AND my Mac.

There's one difference with the one whos replies don't arrive on Messages on Mac. She's got an iPad without 3G so no phone number associated with it. Just her email address.

The one that did manage so send me something which arrive on both devices: she used her iPhone (and her phone number associated with her iMessage).

Can't think of a reason though why that should matter.

Could it be something on that person's iPad which makes her iMessages only appear on my iphone and as '! not delivered' and not appearing on my Mac?
