For all of you out there that have not installed AIRparrot here is the fix.
Applications>Utilites>Uninstall Air Display
Let your computer restart and that should be it. Im not sure what caused the problem but this sure fixes it.

Sep 4, 2014 10:55 PM in response to bradhotdogby sjarvis22,I had the same problem, I think, so I uninstalled AIR Display as stated and restarted the computer. It didn't fix my problem and I lost AIR Display…is there any way to get it back?

Feb 18, 2015 9:17 AM in response to tjsanders02by Daniel Ebeck,I'm having a similar issue.
Brand new Apple TV unit, updated to the latest version.
Ethernet connection, so it isn't wifi related.
My boss's MBP Retina (10.9.5) won't mirror to it.It will play music via his iTunes.
My Mac Mini (10.10.2) will connect fine.
My iPad will play music fine.

Mar 22, 2015 5:01 PM in response to tjsanders02by trm1945,I can't mirror iMac on 10.10.3 but I can start up on an external HD running 10.6.8 and it does mirror iMac. Looks like 10.10.3 is guilty.

Oct 18, 2015 12:15 PM in response to trm1945by pahoward216,I might have found a solution? This works for me anyway. Like many on here i can get audio but no picture. I was using Air Parrot 2 to mirror my iMac before
so I'm know using both of them until hopefully apple come up with a solution I'm also on the new El Capitan. I am able to run both devices and works well on my TV . Hope it dose for you all.

Nov 14, 2015 11:42 PM in response to pahoward216by TheKracken84,Check it out... I have had the same airplay issue for over a year; however, it worked on my MacBook so I gave up on fixing it. Until today, several other discussions mentioned Air Display and Air Parrot, which I have never used; however, I forgot that I had tried Duet Display once. When I deleted it, I simply went to my application and moved it to the trash as you do with Apple Certified Apps, I also forgot that Duet Display was not downloaded from the App store it was done from a website.
IF YOU HAVE EVER USED DUET DISPLAY AND HAVE THIS ISSUE DO THE FOLLOWING!!!
THE FIX... Go to Duet Display's website, and reinstall the application. Once installed the D will be next to the airplay button. Click the D then click the option button (GEARS) and final click uninstall DUET. It will tell you that MAC will need to restart, say yes do it now... After restart your Airplay should work just fine. Took me less than 10 mins...
