Wow, i WISH i would have found his article a few months ago, when i finally updated my Mac Pro from 10.7 to Mavericks.
It's so misleading, as the printer appears to be supported, but lost functionality: can no longer print two-sided or scan! In the past, software update would offer to download the missing (non-generic) driver, but not with Mavericks.
Apple, please bring this back!! I'm glad i found driver package (HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X), but I found the link on HP's support forum!!
