2011 MBP screen upgrade possible?

I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro with a 720p LCD screen and am starting to feel a bit envious of those other 1080p and retina display laptops, but I don't feel it's worth it to buy another laptop just for screen resolution and some incremental spec upgrades. Is this possible? I'm not concerned about voiding any warranties since I'm pretty sure mine has already expired.
