Pages and .docx

I get E-mails through work with .docx files. I use my personal macbook air to open them.

When I click on the .docx pages opens and there is next to nothing there, like its formated wrong or something. I believe there to be nothing wrong with the document because I can see it on all of the windows machines at work.

I am using pages 5.1 on a 13 inch mid 2012 macbook air running os x 10.9.2
