Mar 15, 2014 8:01 PM in response to Vivaconsuerteby Lyssa,Are you talking about the App Store app (blue icon that looks like it has an A on it) or the Apple Store app (Green icon with a shopping cart)?
If the App Store is missing, try checking in Settings>General>Restrictions and see if Installing Apps is turned off.

Mar 16, 2014 7:44 AM in response to Vivaconsuerteby Lyssa,If you didn't restore the iPad as new when you got it, you really should do so - that will clear out all the apps & changes your friend has on the iPad so you can use it as you like.
Try resetting the iPad - press & hold the power & home buttons until the screen goes black, then release the keys. The iPad should boot up normally afterwards. Check for the App Store icon once the iPad is back up & running.
