Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11.1.5) Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then... See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success
ive tried this, the 'connect to iTunes' screen shows up and stays for about 20 minutes.. then my ipod turns on, does this affect my ipod restoring?
Please read my post carefully.
I have, this didnt help, its still doing the same.. ive tried it about 11 times in the past two days..
.
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer
thank you, ive deleted all security software&it seems to be helping:)
