Q: Macbook Air 2013 Airplay does not work

Hello! I am using a Macbook Air 2013 with Mac OS 10.8.4 and latest Apple TV device. I can't make my Mac do Airplay. I see the icon but when I set Airplay on, nothing shows on my TV, its stuck for a seconds, and than Airplay is cancelled. Please help! On the other hand, airplay from Iphone 5 C on the same network works just fine.

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    The vast majority of AirPlay issues are the result of network issues.  Troubleshoot the network.

    I tried more or less everything I could think of, including connecting both Mac and Apple TV by UTP cable, and even buying a new router (now I have ASUS Dark Knight N66-U. Any hints on some networking details I should particullary take care off ?

    If it does not work with the computer and ATV are connected directly via a crossover cable, that would indicate an issue with a setting on the Mac.

     

    Posting to the appropriate Mac forum would likely result in more relevant solutions.

     

    Try disabling IPV6 in the Mac network settings and the firewall, see if either or both makes a difference.

    Disabling IPV6 helped to an extent that it worked for a little while. After about 30 min it disconnected and I cant connect it again. Any other hints ?
