Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
After installing the latest update on my Iphone 4S, the home button immediately started to give me problems. It works sporadically. Sometimes it allows me to close apps when I tap it twice, sometimes it won't do anything, sometimes it will go to the negative effect. This was not an issue prior to the latest update. I have version 7.1. Has anyone found a repair for this?

That's very odd.Try rebooting the 4S.If problem still persists,reinstall the iOS through iTunes on your Mac or PC.If you still have a problem,take your iPhone to the nearest Apple store or contact the customer care through email or Phone,whatever you're comfortable with
I don't know how odd as I have seen several complaints concerning an issue with the home button after updating. I will troubleshoot further.
So did you have a similar issue before upgrading to iOS 7.1? This can also be a hardware issue which you didn't have before.To be sure, get your home button checked top you're nearest Apple store.If you still have the problem, then this may have been caused by a bug.to report the bug, go to this site: apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.The iPhone team may even contact flute further details from you.
No problems with the home button until I installed the update. It started when the update was complete. I have read other complaints on the discussions.apple.com site as well as other websites. I don't know if there is an Apple store near me but I will figure the problem out.
I am sure this is a software bug.All you can do now is wait for a software update or have the iPhone restored to iOS 7.
Problem seems to be fixed after I went to Settings, General, Accessibility, and Home-Click. I changed Home-Click from Default to Slow and seems to work now.
Glad to hear you don't have a problem anymore.But I still dont understand why did the problem come in the first place? Did someone change you're settings earlier?
I don't understand it either. I installed the latest update and no settings were changed by me or anyone else. It started with the latest update installation. I am just glad it is functioning again.
