Q: Power Mac G4 recognizes Airport Extreme but not password

I have a PowerMac G4 733 Mhz running OSX 10.3.9. New Airport Extreme.

Mac recognizes modem (and others in the area) but doesn't recognize password.

Could it be this old Mac won't work with the new router?

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

The AEBS may default to run wireless "n" or "ac" only and, if your G4 has an original Apple airport card, it can only work on wireless "b." There are router settings where you can change that.

Also, older versions of the Mac OS cannot deal with WPA security. You are limited to WEP as I recall.

Suggest posting in the Airport forums:

    AirPort

    to get the proper settings.
