What version of software do you have? Update through the Mac App Store.

10.5.8 or 10.6.8? If it's the latter go to the Mac App Store and look for "Mac OS X Mavericks" and install it. This will update your software.

Try using the Leopard 10.5 forums. These are the Mavericks 10.9 forums.

If you have 10.5.8, then you should update first to 10.6.8 and then follow the steps on my previous reply.
