How to delete Documents & Data, cache etc of apps on my iPad?

Are there any free apps for my MacBook like CleanMyPhone to do the job or is there an other way to delete that type of data to free up space on my iPad?

How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

Apps on the iPad are sandboxed. This means there is very limited capability of an app to change what's in another app. So some like a Clean my iPhone will not work. Deleting an app removes the app and all of it's associated files. You could always do that. Then download the app again. Apps that you purchased can be downloaded again without charge. But before deleting an app make sure it is still in the App Store. Sometimes an app is removed from the App Store and you would then not be able to download them again.

Step 1: Tap the “Photos” icon on your iPad’s home screen.
Step 2: Tap one of the photos that you want to delete from your camera roll.
Step 3: Tap the trash icon in the bottom corner of your screen.
Step 4: Tap the “Delete Photo” button to delete the photo from your Camera Roll. Repeat these steps for each photo you want to remove.

Tip
Photos deleted from your Camera Roll cannot be recovered. If you think you may need them at some point in the future, back up your photos before deleting them.
