Mac Mail App Not Opening

Help!

All of a sudden, my mail was "spinning." I restarted my compputer and now there is a big circle with a slash through my mail with the following error message "You can't open the applicaion Mail because it is not supporte don this type of Mac" All of my software is up to date.
