Hi. The iPas refuses to recognize the network. I have typed in the network, security code and pasword. Nothing.Yes have tried restarting my router. I do have the correct password. I have reinstalled my router, I have reset my network, I have done a hard boot, etc., I have tried every solution I could find online within this community and on other sites. My PC and wireless printer are on the same router and I have no problems with them. The ipad was working perfectly until I installed ios 7.1. the funny thing is my Son-in-law works for Apple but he works with hardware and he says it's a software problem. . Appreciate your help

MediaLink is my router. Even talked to thier support group and they confirmed that they support Apple products. I have still an active case number with them without having Apple Care. I am also working with their Product Engineering department. Problem has been duplicated on Netgear, Medialink, D-Link, and Belkin. Also one the US versions and Euroipean versions of the iPad gen 3, iPad 2, iPhone 4, and latest is the iPad mini,

This is not the issue. See my thread. If apple even thought this was my issue they would have never accepted the call without Apple Care nor did I pay for the service call. Also the solution which again would have never been done if they did not believe that this was their problem was to give me a new ipad free of charge AND a new ipad touch. So do you still think that Apple would have gone to that extreme remedy if they thought this was my issue? My case is still open cause they don't have a fix.

Reading through the various threads it seems that there is a serious problem of wifi connectivity with some iPads.

For example the one I am using now drops the wifi connection every few minutes.

My partner, sitting next to me, has no problem whatsoever with her iPad.

I have seen co called 'solutions' such as changing router settings, etc., but this doesn't explain how all the other Android phones,PC's, wifi enabledq printers, etc., that are connected to the same network, do not experience this problem.

I've tried calling Apple to no avail and I see that one of the threads on here has now reached 140 or so pages, all about the same problem.

I called Apple again today and they actually hung up on me, after keeping me on hold for 3-4 minutes.

I guess it is time for some drastic action.

I'm now trying to find out who Apple use as their accreditation body for the international Quality Assurance Standard, ISO 9001.

As part of this policy they should have a well defined and recorded Customer Complaint procedure, and should be able to demonstrate how they deal with customer complaints.

Hanging up on customers isn't really a recognised method!

I am also taking this up with Trading Standards here in the UK, as the iPod I have is not really fit for purpose due to the fact it drops any wifi connection after a few minutes.

I used to consider Apple a reputable and ethical company but no longer hold that view.

It isn't simply that that they will not deal with this problem; there appear to be many thousands of people out there in the same situation and Apple don't appear to be even acknowledging this problem.

I urge people to take the same action if possible. Find out who Apple use for ISO 9001 and write to or email them with a complaint that Apple's customer complaint procedure does not appear to be working.

These large corporates tend to take things that much more seriously when they think they may lose their Quality accreditation.

Steve Jobs wouldn't have tolerated this sort of situation!

I have several IOS devices and updated each of them to Apple's release of IOS 7.1.

Unfortunately my iPhone 4s did not update successfully. It was affected by the widely reported issue regarding WiFi being disabled permanently. After the update to IOS 7.1, wifi is no longer an accessible option on the IPhone 4s.

After doing some online research and identifying this as a common problem, I tried some of the suggestions available online such as resetting settings and restoring from backup. None of these suggestions worked.

I brought the iPhone 4s to the apple store at the Rideau Center in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and spoke to one of the employees. He stated that it was not an apple issue and that it was a problem with my phone that would cost $200 to resolve. He said that it was not a problem related to the ios 7.1 update and that it was a "coincidence" that it happened at the same time as the update to ios 7. 1 and was probably an issue with the wifi chip.

It is surprising to me that applying an update recommended by apple and using the iPhone 4s in the manner in which it was designed (using wifi) would cause this basic function (wifi) to cease to function.

Wifi is an essential part of my day to day use of this device. I am appalled that apple is denying the problem and has no resolution for it.

If anyone else this problem, please go to your nearest apple store and let this forum know your experience in getting the issue resolved.
