If you enter the number "A ----" from the blurry image into an identify web site

you could see the range of possible build years and actual products vary...


There may be as many as two+ years using that same number.

{edit: I see the above reply has a fairly good link to help}


However a serial number may be more helpful. Did you remove

the battery and look for numbers inside the portable, there?


{if the macbook has no 'user-removable' battery, then maybe not}

If you had a serial number, then the above site could give you

information on the product run dates, month of build, etc.


Although the copyright on the white MacBook says 2007,

that is not necessarily the build year. And also there are

build versions such as 'early' 'mid' 'late' in each year.


If you could find the System information, where it says your

MacBook is (example) Macbook3.1, with that, it is easier.
