How to Obtain lost pics on 5s during backup? The pics were in another app called PHOTO ALBUM that allows u to lock up pics

I was backing up iPhone 4 to iTunes so I could transfer stuff to new 5s. iTunes hung up. I backed data up again. I hooked new 5s up and uploaded this backup. I have a file called Photo Album that is an app that allows one to lock out others. It uses a code to access. This folder transferred. Pics will not load up. It show file names n that they are jpg but they are faded like inactive files. Will not let me open files. All files are listed. Just can't view them. Any help appreciated.
