iOS 7.1 huge "Other" usage

Hi,

Since I updated my iPhone 5 and iPad mini to iOS 7.1 "Other" uses 2,63gb on my ipad and 2,52gb on my iphone. Is this normal? That is a lot of space for operating system and I would be realy pleased if I could use it for something alse. Anything I can do to reduce the size?
