Macbook Air 2013 model freezing

I have only had my macbook air 13" 2013 model for less than a week and already it is starting to freeze. The first time I ever turned it on I was unable to click anywhere so I had to restart it. When it freezes it mostly happens in safari. When I swipe backwards to return to the previous page on the trackpad it freezes and I have to exit safri. I have also gotten the beach ball loading symbol a couple of times. I am yet to buy waranty for this as I live in australia and I told the store I bought it from I will be back in 2 weeks to buy the waranty. Is there anything I can do before I buy my warranty and contact apple?
