If you have the original Snow Leopard install disks you can partition your hard disk and install SL on the new partition, provided that your Mac originally came with Snow Leopard. You would have to select the partition to boot into and then when finished boot back into Mavericks. You could also install Snow Leopard on an external hard disk with the same provisos, which is a lot simpler (and safer) procedure than partitioning.
Note my post above about which version of Pages will open AppleWorks documents (the current one won't). The latest version of AW, 6.2.9, is buggy when opening ClarisWorks files - you should use 6.2.4 or 6.2.7 if possible.
