Q: trouble with memory storage or both?

OK rookie question, I only have 4 GB worth of memmory, but somehow managing to store 15GB worth of data on my desktop. How can I find out what my total storage available to me? I am not using icloud currently.

Also recently having trouble loading several different web sites, can't seem to download a new browser either?

    Hello joho3591,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

For more information, take a look at:

To view Storage information for your connected volumes, select About This Mac from the Apple menu, then click the More Info button in the window that appears. Next, click the Storage tab to display storage information

Your 4GB is RAM memory (used by apps and system to run), normally that is enough in Mavericks.

Your user data (data files) are on the disk, normally bigger than 128GB: here are the system files and applications and the user data files stored.
