iphone5s not connecting to bluetooth Refurbished causing this?

I have sony speakers I use at my house to play music. Every phone I have purchased new from the store has always connected to these speakers. Every iphone that has been a replacement through insurance will not connect to the speakers. Is this because they are refurbished? Is it a setting I need to change? I have reset settings etc. None of this worked. This last phone I recieved through the insurance company was promised to be new and as I suspected is not connecting to my bluetooth and so Im thinking its refurbished too. Any ideas? Please help!!
