I want to do the update on my Apple, the Mavrick 10.9.2
I get the message that I need to free up space on my start up disc.
I have cleared the desk top as much as I can.
I need HELP to get his updated.
What do I need to do ?

Download and run OmniDiskSweeper and run it on your Macintosh HD. It will show you large files and folders taking up a lot of space. You need to move some of this data to an external hard drive and delete it from your internal hard drive. Or just delete items that you don't need anymore. How much free space do you have on your hard drive?
And make sure you empty the iPhoto Trash as well as the Finder Trash can!
I think it be wise to not install Mavericks until you have 15% free space on the hard drive
I am getting the message that I need more space. To delete some of my start up disc. I am not sure how this is done ??
