Q: I wanted to download a purchase that I had for a while now but when I went to the purchased nothing was showing up

So I opened the App Store to get to the purchased app and I've haven't had this problem before but the purchases weren't showing up

Do none of your purchases show ? If not then you haven't changed countries since buying them, and you've tried logging our of your account on your iPod (tap on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app) and back in and seeing if they then show ?

Have you also tried closing the App Store app via the iPod's multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.

Another thing that you could try is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
