Hi all, does anybody know whether the magnetic hinge connection on the Ipad Air Smart Cover work when the Ipad has a silicon rubber case cover installed ?

If the rubber case has cutouts for the hinge it should work. If there are no cutouts and the hinge can't directly contact the iPad, it won't work properly.

I myself have a silicon rubber case on me iPad AND a Smart Cover. Though my silicon case is made to work properly with the iPad. Sometimes the magnetic Smart Case can have low strength while holding the iPad in certain positions, and my rubber case works in a way that it is impossible to remove que magnetic case while the rubber one is on the iPad
Bottom line: check if the rubber case is made to work WITH the Smart Case
