Help. Reinstalled iTunes twice but still no connection
iPod classic, Windows 8
This guide might help with troubleshooting. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369
No luck. Checked everything in the troubleshooting guide. Works fine with other PC. Very frustrating as never had this problem before. This triggered when when I updated iTunes.
Exactly the same problem with my 160gb Classic after I updated i Tunes.
I have also tried the guide with no luck. Also have never had this problem until I updated yesterday.
Surely Apple need to fix this as I don't think we're the only ones with this problem.
Is the iPod detected by Windows?
Yes ipod connects and charges. But doesn't appear in iTunes.
It bizarrely appears once I have disconnected the ipod, starts trying to sync then states that it could not sync?!!
Okay, try to restart the iPod Service. Here is how to do this in Windows 8.
I'm on Windows Vista and have tried this already with no luck.
this guide may help you since your iPod is shown in Windows.
I'm in the same shoes, was working perfect before the update. Now all my music is gone and my iPod won't even connect anymore!
Thanks for the suggestions but these aren't working.
I've tried (almost) all of the items in the http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363 guide. Somewhat reluctant to disable my security software though. Using Windows 8. The iPod connected OK after first install of current iTunes. Stopped the second time I tried to sync. Reinstalled iTunes completly. This worked ok once and then failed second time. I tried restarting the iPod service as well. All very frustrating. Hopefully there is an answer on teh horizon.
Did not have the same probelm as Mac_Lio as all data is still on iPod and iPod is working fine.
Holtewalker - My iPod will connect and charge to my PC using the USB. However when I click on the iPod icon in Windows explorer it fails to connect. Do you have the same problem? I have connected my iPod to a diiferent PC without iTunes and it connects fine and you can open and view files using Explorer.
Which takes me back to original http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363?viewlocale=en_US
Will try restoring from another computer next...
Restored from another computer. Thanks Armygrunt. Its synchronising at last!!
Fingers crossed it will sync ok in the future. Thanks for your suggestions.
