Missing hyperlinks from Keynote on Mac to Keynote on iPad

I have a dynamic Keynote presentation with literally hundreds of hyperlinks that connect images to additional content throughout the presentation. When I open the file in Keynote on my iPad, all of the links are gone. Am I missing a step?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), To iPad2 WiFi

Where are those 'additional images' ? Are the hyperlinks URLs, or are they links to other files on the disk of your computer ?
