trackpad failure

HI there: My wife's late 2008 MBP's trackpad quit functioning today. Seems like the hardclick function is stuck, which is causing the cursor to be in permanent drag mode. What I mean by hard click function is when you press the trackpad until you can hear it click, this one no longer does that.

Anyone know if this is repairable?
