Hi there!
I know, it does sound quite strange, but my 27" iMac 13,2 (late 2012)
lost his system serial number!
When I look in the "about this Mac" window,
it shows "Seriennummer System Serial#"
and in the system information it says
"Seriennummer (System): Not Available"
I still can see the Hardware-UUID, but the system serial is gone!
Any ideas?

Take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
I have the same machine and the same problem. Did you get it sorted!?
There are other ways to find the serial number.

Thanks but my computer does not know it (I have checked those listed) although I do have it on the box and the iMac computer stand that does not help when software asks the system for verification. Is there a way for me to help the computer remember its name (number) !? :-)
