iOS7.1 UK New female siri not available for speaking text?

Since upgrading to iOS7.1, in the UK the female siri voice is now available.

I have switched this on and when using the home button to access siri, I get the femail voice.

However, when I try get siri to speak some text I have selected, it uses the male voice.

I have closed all my apps and restarted my iPhone 5.

However the male voice is always used.

Help ?

It's a bug. I have submitted feedback on this point to Apple. I really hope they take notice, because the male voice is horrible.

There is a workaround though - go to Settings/General/International/Region Format, and change the region to "Isle of Man".
