Q: The play button is missing from my podcast screen

i did all the things listed, killed apps, powered down, reset.

the play button on the podcast app and the audible app still disappear and reappear.

i noticed other control buttons also go missing.

Same issue with me.  The play/pause button is completely gone - but touching there does make it play/pause.  So it's an HMI issue, not a control issue.  Also, sometimes the rewind 15 and skip 30 buttons are missing.  Note that the "15" and "30" are there... just not the circles around it.

I had turned on the "Button Shapes" option is accessibility earlier.  Thinking that may be the issue, I toggled it back off and did a restart on the iPhone.  The play button in Podcasts re-appeared.  I pressed play.  Fine.  I then launched another app (Calendar), clicked the home button and then clicked the podcast button and the play icon was there for a half a second before it vanished.

Since the buttons actually work - it's just a minor irritation, seems like a bug.

I'm also seeing the same "problem" with iOS 7.1.1 on an iPhone 5S. I've tried the suggestions ( thanks Jason ), including forcing all apps to quit and hard-booting the 5S, but to no avail.

I also tried uninstalling ( removing ) the app, and then reinstalling ( downloading ) it again from the App Store.

Sadly this didn't help. The button returned briefly, and then disappeared again.

In fact, as you'll see from the screenshot, I'm seeing other intersting missing text, again albeit intermittently.

I noticed that the Podcasts app automatically uploaded itself today, but, sadly, the problem appears to persist.

I'll try it again tomorrow, after a full hard reboot of the phone, and see whether things are any better.

The same for me. Additionally, buttons on bottom already missing sometimes.

It's random, the same as button "play/stop".
