Q: This iPhone is currently linked to an Apple ID (xxx@xxxx.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone.

I have run into the stranged issue. I tried to upgrade iOS and ended up getting an error and full factory reset needing to be done. After the whole setup the phone prompted for me to sign in with my Apple ID which I did and then got the above message. Now the thing is, I set up this phone with said Apple ID (My personal). It is a business phone, I opened the brand new phone and set it up with my Apple ID.

Based on the Activation Help I need to original Apple ID that was used to set up the phone which is obviously myself. I then went onto iCloud and removed the phone as directed. Rebooted device etc and am still unable to activate the phone. What else can I try?

Phone is 100% legally bought by the company I work for and I opened and set up the phone myself. This very cool security feature is screwing with my life right now.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1

Can anyone help me please? At the very least is there anyway to find out the Apple ID used to set up the phone?

That is certainly odd. If your iPhone is locked and your Apple ID isn't working to unlock it, then your only recourse is to contact Apple to have it unlocked.

You will probably need to appear in person at an Apple Store. Apple will require its original, dated sales invoice, so obtain that from the company, assuming it was purchased in their name, and whatever backup documentation you can think of to prove you're its legitimate owner. Please let us know how they resolve this.

Thanks for the info, I was able to get through to Apple support and verify my ID etc. 24 hours and should be sorted. The issue was somehow my phone was linked to someone elses iCloud, probably an earlier bug of sorts. At least there is a resolution. Thanks for the info
