Can I run Mac OS 8.1 on Mac OS 10.8?

How do I? I'm trying, but I just can't. Any help would be much appreciated.

No, you can't run any Mac OS version on 10.8. To run Mac OS you will need a computer capable of running it, then installing it on a freshly formatted disk.

Ok thank you, though I really don't want to buy a old Macintosh. They're SO EXPENSIVE.

Most anything that runs in 8.1 can run in 9.2.2. It is just stuff that is older than 8.1 that really gets to be different as 8.1 was when HFS+ was first introduced.
