I am using OS X 10.9.2. I have scanned 5 individual jpeg pages to my computer but cannot figure out how to combine them to create one document to email or keep as one document in a folder. Please advise. Thank you!

This is a reasonably easy task to accomplish, of course it depends upon the size of the images (in pixels). I usually accomplish this by building a PowerPoint slide deck (portrait mode pages) and then inserting one of the pegs on each page of the slide deck. You can then either save as a PowerPoint file or print it to a PDF. Alternately, you could print each JPEG to a PDF and then combine them using Preview, ending up with a peg with all the pages.
Note: MacBook Pro is a notebook, but Mac Pro is a desktop. The answer to your question though is computer independent. If you need to know the answer to a MacBook Pro question, see this forum:

You'll need to find out the pixel length and width of each image, and determine what they are combined in pixel length and width to make one document out of them. http://www.lemkesoft.com/ 's GraphicConverter lets you create a document of any size by pixel length and width, and then copy/paste their contents into that blank document.
A slight variation of that is if you select the files and drag them as a group onto the Preview Icon, it will open them as if they were one document with each jpeg on a page. Save that document and your wish comes true.
As noted in my post, you can just use Preview alone - first print the JPEGs to individual PDF files and then combine them with Preview

That's if you have Powerpoint. But that does bring another interesting point. Either LibreOffice or OpenOffice may offer the same capabilities for less than GraphicConverter or Powerpoint.
