Contact woes....

I hope someone on here can help me out.

I've just intalled Whatsapp on to my Iphone 5s and noticed duplicat contacts under the favourites tab, after a bit of poking around in my contacts in my iphone address book I noticed that the duplicates have linked contacts under their records. I have both my gmail and Hotmail email on my phone and it appears some contacts are under these. Is there a way to merge these all under the iCloud tab?
