i have updated to mavericks but still cant download ilife for free ?

Question

how do i download ilife / iworks for free i was told i could but apparently i cant ?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

It's free with a new Mac running Mavericks, it is not free with a Mavericks upgrade. You will have to buy it.

If you had the last version of either suite (iLife '11 for example) of apps you can upgrade them for free.

If you have older versions you'll need to purchase the newest ones.
