iOS 7.1 -bluetooth will not connect to Mac

Pair with your Macs over Bluetooth for what purpose?

Having the same problem here. iOS7.1 on 5c, OSX10.9.2 on MBP. Attempting to use either the Keynote App or Keynote Remote to control a presentation for a job interview. I can see the computer, the phone is discoverable, and the connection code is sent and recieved without error. I tap on the MBP in the devices list and get "Connection Unsuccessful: [Computer Name] is not supported. Forget Device." As a loyal Mac user for 10+yrs, I don't know that I've ever been more frustrated or disgusted.

No it wasn't.

Your iPhone is sync'd to yoru conputer over wifi, not bluetooth.

This has never been a featire of iphone.

It does these things via wi-fi

You're wrong. I have my iPhone connected via Bluetooth to my MacBook enabled "Sync over WiFi" and it just works fine over Bluetooth. And of course I did turn off WiFi on my iPhone.

What part of "Sync over WiFi" do you associate with "bluetooth"...?

That's NOT A FEATURE of iOS. There is nothing to "solve".

Since you have Sync over wifi enabled, guess what.

It is syncing over wifi, not bluetooth.

Thanks for the response but are you referring to connecting my iPhone to my Mac through Bluetooth? I need to connect my iPhone to it in order to use my iPhone as a remote for a Keynote presentation. The Keynote app on iOS says using Bluetooth is possible.

That is a completely different animal which has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Using Keynote on iOS to control Keynote on a Mac does not involve bluetooth pairing. It uses a peer to peer bluetooth connection.
