My Mac book pro 13 running osx lion froze. It is stuck at the grey apple screen with the wheel spinning. How can I reload the operating system without the disk? Please help

What exact model MBP do you have? Was Lion the installed OSX when new?
Have you tried a restart?
Have you tried a Safe Boot?
