iPad calendar events not syncing to iMac

The events created on my iPad calendar are not syncing to my iMac, but will sync iMac to iPad. I do not use iCloud, when I turn it on all these events that I have never created appear in my calendar so I turned it off. I have restored my iPad, restored my iCal on the iMac by removing the Cache and nothing seems to work. I have the appropriate default calendar set on the iPad, and I don't have additional calenders like Google in my iMac settings (although past events from a former Google account still lingers with Birthdays showing up). I am also getting duplicate events on my iPad, I replaced information on the iPad with information from the computer, still won't sync back to the iMac. Any suggestions?
