Apr 21, 2014 11:53 AM in response to Tony Davenportby sebastian255,Thank you, Tony.
So, unless anyone has something new to share that comes directly from either Apple or Netflix, I would suggest this is the END OF DISCUSSION.

Apr 22, 2014 1:17 AM in response to Ray Allenby Tony Davenport,Apple know there's a problem - Netflix knows there's a problem -*we* all know there's a problem. It's not intermittant, it isn't just affecting some people. Therefore at this stage it's not really much good saying, "I've got this problem too!" as you are just creating noise and preventing people seeing the workarounds to the problem at the moment as these solutions are just buried in 15 pages of 'me toos', and people asking what to do.
There are only three things you can do to get DD working in Netflix on the AppleTV.
1. Roll back to firmware version 5.3.
or
2. Airplay to AppleTV from Netflix app on iPhone or iPad.
or
3. Wait for it to be fixed.
Know of a number 4? Great! Please post it - else don't bother!
Things you can do instead of posting here:
1. Go to bugreport.apple.com and file a bug report. Of course it will end up as being listed as a duplicate, but you will have let them know.
2. Get on to Netflix support and tell them you are not happy. Why not demand a free month off them or something? Anything that financially affects a company is more likely to spur them into action. Right now it's not worth posting the discussion you had with them UNLESS you've been given new information, such as a specific date for the fix etc. (and, just so you know, we've all been told "very soon", "any day now" so that's not really news ).

Apr 22, 2014 1:20 AM in response to nobblydogby Tony Davenport,Sadly Chromecast is not a good idea - not yet anyway. Mainly because the casting ability is not at system level so it needs apps to explicitly support it. The great thing about AirPlay is that it is built in to the audio visual frameworks at OS level.

Apr 22, 2014 1:24 AM in response to Tony Davenportby nobblydog,Ok. Scratch that idea then and stick with the original 1,2 and 3.
To be honest, its pretty easy to downgrade,. Go ahead and wait for the next update.
