IPhone 5s no service since update what can I do ?

Since I updated my iPhone 5s yesterday I can no longer make or receive calls as I have no signal at all ? Can anyone including apple themselves help, as it seems all that apple want to do is sell you more stuff that doesn't work correctly rather than fix what we have already bought ?
