Time, date and batter percentage in the way

Help! I just got the new iOS and when I go to play my games they are partially blocked at the top by the time, date and battery percentage. Super nice to have them there but how do I get remove them from inside apps? I tried all kinds of things but it's still there. Any advice? Thanks

Try first quitting all your games and then doing a reset.

To quit apps: double click on the home button to get to preview mode. You will see a row of preview screen for each app that is open, with the apps icon underneath it. Swipe upward from the preview screen (NOT the icon) off the top of the iPad. Make sure there is no left-right movement of the preview screen while swiping upward. When you are down to just the preview of your home screen you are done.

To reset your iPad: hold both the power and home keys down together for at least 10 seconds until the apple logo appears. Let go promptly when the logo does appear. Wait another 30 seconds for you iPad to restart. No data will be affected.

Now try your apps. It the time and battery percentage still appear then I suspect it is an app problem.

ThAnk you. The only reason I don't think it is controlled by the app is because it was never there until I just installed the new iOS the other day. I find the settings and things super tricky to navigate and there are a lot more features this time. I tried closing everything. And downloaded a new game and the score of the game and progress is blocked by the banner (if I can call it that), argh. I want to revert. Hopefully they fix this next time. It would be awesome if it was tiny and at the top but not so big and blocking part of the screen I am using. Thank you for your helpful thoughts and ideas.
