Got the same problem. My way (long process) is to download Image Data converter Ver.4.2.02 for Mac OS X from Sony and convert ARM to TIF and import the TIF to Aperture. For Lightroom it works. Hope Apple will provide an updated support soon
I also have the a6000 and use to shoot RAW files.
My workaround is:
1. I Create DNG files from the ARWs with Adobe DNG Converter
2. import the files into "Capture one Pro" and process my images (great results!!!)
3. Import processed TIFFs into Aperture (just for managing my photos)
Apple neglects Aperture and the users... a new version is badly needed!
I have the same issue.
Current Mavericks does not support the new Sony a6000 raw files.
It really impedes work flow if every file needs conversion!
I hope someone from Apple can help.
Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
Same with Aperture. I see the new α7 & α7R is supported so I imagine an update will be released soon (I hope!)
Hi, here is the direct link to Aperture's feedback page http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html. You can select "Aperture does not support my camera" and specify the A6000 raw files not being supported. I filed the feedback and pointed out that Lightroom is already supporting raw editing on this bestselling camera. Aperture A6000 users we need unite and get this done. The sooner and more feeback we file the faster the fix.
Thanks,
Prem
Hi,
Thanks. The workaround above still gives me color burn and loss of detail. Apple really has to fix this. It may be too late since I have MOVED to Lightroom. I'm sure many others have too. Way to abandon your users Apple.
