Temporarily Disable Managed Preferences

I am managing client preferences through computer lists in Workgroup Manager. These preferences include restricted access to specific applications. Is there a way to temporarily disable these preferences for a local admin user?

Thanks for your reply.

I am only managing clients in computer lists through workgroup manager, not users in workgroups. I restrict access to specific applications which unfortunately also apply to the local admin user. When I tried holding down the option key when logging in as the local admin user I received the message, "There are no workgroups for admin." The local admin user is still restricted to the the same list of applications specified in the Workgroup Manager computer list preferences.
