Resolution
- Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
- Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (see the pictures below to locate the microphones on your device)
- Make sure none of the microphones is obstructed by dirt or debris.
- Turn the iPhone off and then on.
- Make sure that the latest version of iOS is installed.
- If necessary, find general iPhone hardware troubleshooting suggestions.
- For further assistance, contact Apple Support.

May 15, 2015 12:46 PM in response to FranItalyby nojoda,This is really weird! iPhone4 audio quit Sat. on taking videos of kids' church talent show. BUMMER!! Voice Memos work fine as well as audio on old videos. Tried the needle in the mic hole…zero. Tried UKTX's remedy Mar 16, 2013 7:10pm in response to jetflo19: zero. Now here's the weird: If I plug in the Apple ear buds while shooting video, the audio works fine. This doesn't work with my Sony ear buds or just a plug in the headphone outlet, only the Apple ear buds. Genius, I know you're out there with the answer. Please help!
