downloading new software update, the loading bar stopped loading, hasn't moved in an hour. What do I do?

Brand new Mac Pro, downloading new software update and the loading bar turned grey (from blue) and stopped loading hasn't moved in an hour. What do I do?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, Windows 7

It's been over three hours since anything has happeend. Is this normal for a software update? Can someone please help. Do I restart?
