It says this everytime I try to download the new content:

Spent several hours with Apple senior tech. Could not fix download problem " need internet connection" . They are aware of issue but no fix as of last night. I did send a system file to Apple engineers and awaiting response/fix. For now suggest avoiding this update.

what i consistently see in log at time of failure

Just now my Garageband completed the content install without the "no internet" error. When downloading and instaling, keep an eye on the folder named "audiocontentdownload.apple.com" since that is where it saves all this stuff while grabbing and instaling it.

Same problem here in Germany. Macbook Pro 13" Retina, 8 GB, Mavericks 10.9,.2

Inernetconnection is available and used.

With the last 2 tries, the messange above appeared after entering my password for installation.

So in my opinion, the download was finished and installation started, then the message appears.

Has anyone a solution?

There is no solution, it's something on Apple's side either try when they fix the problem or like me keep trying till you get it.

After about a total of 40+ attempts to get the update completely I finally got every portion of it this morning around about 2am my time.

Just downloaded and installed Garage Band update after futile attempts over last two days and hours with Apple support yesterday. Did nothing but quit a dyndns updater app from running.

Not sure if Apple fixed or i just got lucky.

Somebody knows if this failed updates left gigabytes of data in the hard disk?

in finder use "go to folder" and type "/private/var/folders/".

Collapse stuff until you see "com.apple.garageband10", then "com.apple.MusicApps"

in there is the folder "audiocontentdownload.apple.com" and it would constantly collect and delete with items, so I do not think it builds up, since I saw it download over a gig, then delete it only to do it again and again until it finally worked.

Thank you! The folder "audiocontentdownload.apple.com" contain another folder named "lp10_ms3_content_2013" but it's empty!

When you are in garageband, do you see the "download content" or something like that? The folder may be empty during each fail. For me it would vary between being empty, having a few small temp files, or one big installer file that would come and go. Keep an eye on your loops files as well to see if anything changed.

Ok, when I launch the upgrade a new file appears in the folder: "MAContent10_GarageBandCoreContent.pkg". Now I'm waiting to see what happen

No update :-( When i launch the installation the file disappear.

Yes & no on it leaving files on the system.

Yes it leaves files on the system when you can continue the download.

No, the files disappear after failed attempts & when you cannot continue the download.

When I finally did get everything installed there were no left over downloaded portions so don't worry about that it sorts itself out.
