Mar 21, 2014 7:10 AM in response to bbueckenby bbuecken,Update... after watching the files where Jay O. said, the files finally downloaded and no internet connection error^^
BUT where are the files in Garageband. I got 1181 objects in loops before and after the installation.
I now try to get the "new loop update" installed and then try to restart Garageband... then I report again

Mar 21, 2014 7:19 AM in response to bbueckenby bbuecken,Okay, here the promised update...
Updates this time went through without any error, at the end Garageband also says that all loops are indexed. But where the **** are they... the counter for loops hangs at 1181.
Anyone an idea?

Reindex your loops. From the drop down menu at the top of the Loop Browser: "Reindex all Loops".

Mar 21, 2014 7:49 AM in response to bbueckenby léonie,I get the same message that my internet is NOT connected. I tested it with an Linux PC, by tracing the connection, everything's fine, inet is always up on my side.
Sometimes the error messages are misleading. It can be a mixture of timeouts caused by too much traffic at the AppStore, a download file that simply cannot be installed, like Jay O.'s experiments suggest, it can be aproblem, that the App Store cannot be contacted for other reasons - a firewall or antivirus software interfering, a problem with the AppleID, a permissions error in the user library, etc.
It would help to know, if someone actually could install the complete update. This way we would know, that we have to look for the problem on our macs. For me, the drum kit "Manchester" is still missing.

Mar 21, 2014 7:53 AM in response to léonieby bbuecken,Actually as I said before I COULD install all but I cannot find any of the files in Garageband (it always tells me that I had 1181 loops installed). It should be something about 1650 (1500 loops and 150 sounds as the payed package is) plus the new ones.

Mar 21, 2014 8:07 AM in response to léonieby bbuecken,OKAY,
here's an update for all of you..
I still have less than the 1650 loops (actually I can try to hit re-indexing loops as much as I like, nothing happens) BUT the "new contents update button" is gone.
The only thing I need to figure out now is where the **** are the missing loops...
Anyone an idea?

Mar 21, 2014 8:15 AM in response to dpktunes1987by Javier Agustín,Does anybody know if Apple takes long to come up with a solution?

Mar 21, 2014 8:27 AM in response to Javier Agustínby bbuecken,Could be in some days or some weeks, who knows.
I think it will depend on
a) if Apple member read this
b) if a is the case then if they understand what it might be and c)
c) if they pass it through to the people who really can do something...

Sending a bug report might speed things up.

A couple things....
1) For those looking for "loops" - I think the update description is what is confusing you. Nowhere does it say that the update contains any new loops:
2) Not to rub it in, but I have 18 "Kits" and 18 "Drummers" and all of them are now working, including the "Manchester" kit.
How many actual loops do you have?
I'mpretty sure if the original jam pack (the one you need to pay 4,99€ for) tells you it "adds" 1500 loops and 150 sounds...
the sum of these would be at least something around 1500 or more... but I only got 1181

Have you checked your filters? The Loop Browser is context sensitive.
The top menu should be set to "Loops" and the scale to "Any", to see how many loops you really are having.
Make sure, Keyword Browsing is disabled in the Preferences > Loops panel.

Thanks for the confirmation. Does the Manchester Kit actually work?

Thank you very much!!
That solved it... now there are 2000 (exactly haha) loops...

Mar 21, 2014 8:45 AM in response to bbueckenby greatANOTHERpassword!,16,785. I have some 3rd party loops in addition to all the Jam Packs. Regardless, (and I'm not trying to be a jerk here) seems like maybe your loop situation is an issue for a different thread?
