iPhone 5 screen popped out - can't push back in

I noticed my iPhone 5 screen popped out in the bottom left corner a few weeks ago (it has never been dropped, not sure how this happened).

It's still functional, so I didn't do anything at that time. Now, the screen is slowly popping out a little more, where it is starting to affect my round home button, making it a little loose.

I can push the screen back down, but it just pops back up, and doesn't want to stay down.

I will have access to a 5-Point Pentalobe screwdriver next week, so I could try to remove the bottom screws to see if it will pop back in easier after I do that, but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.

My phone is no longer under warranty, so I can't swap it at the Apple Store without costing $$$.

Could this be due to a swollen battery? Has anyone else had this happen?

They charge me R5000! i dont think i will buy it anymore. i dont recomend it at all. my phone never fell down or sometheng. the screen pop out. they said 5000 to fix it. imigine is to buy a new phone. it is unfair. the phone is working.y

ur battery balooned !!!, this caused by extreme heat, 2 options: open it, use a pin to pop the outer cover -which I did- or just replace the whole battery!!! u can buy a whole kit for $8 at amazon

YES. (sorry for the late update)

I brought it to Apple that day, and they immediately fixed it (no questions asked, even way past my warranty). They were going to give me a completely new iPhone 5 if they couldn't swap out the battery, but they were able to do it in about 30min so they fixed it for free. 🙂

Just a few weeks later, they fixed my broken Power-on button for free as well 🙂 Apple has redeemed themselves and I am now a happy customer once again.

yes, they fixed it for free.

take it in the apple store, and they should be able to fix it in about 30-45 min.

Mine was WAY past the warranty too.

I noticed mine also a few weeks back. However, I only found out that it's bad when I removed the case. What's worse is I checked my warranty and it's 4 days past. I will bring to Apple service center tomorrow. I hope they fixed for free also.

i have same problem too, have iphone5 in Indonesia (2.5y) my IMEI is accept in program replacement power button but not eligible in replacement battery, just drove about 60miles from my home to service authorized apple in Yogyakarta (EStore) but after arrived there, apple customer service wont accept my phone and they said "we dont take service for apple, we just sell product apple"

just don't understand about EStore in Yogyakarta they have big commercial store APPLE SERVICE AUTHORIZED on front but the employ just want take my money to buy the new one, they dont accept all service in product and won't take support for apple program.

anyone can help me?
