Is it possible to have more than one passcode for the iPhone?

My son uses a passcode to use his phone, so I have to use the same passcode to set up restrictions. Since he uses the passcode, he can simply bypass any restrictions and even change the settings back when he's done.

Is there a way to have two passcodes? One for him to use the phone and one for me to enable restrictions and monitor history?

Hi Kglombi,

Unfortunately there is no legitimate why that Apple let you do this (it would be a nice feature).

The only way is if you had an iPhone 5s your son could have his thumbprint on the phone but not the password, this could work.

There is another way to do it, but it requires JailBreaking the iPhone, (something apple suggest you should NOT do.) and downloading a tweak called Guest mode, which basically enables a different part of the iPhone with limited access, so you could let your son only have the guest mode account, and you could control the rest.

I am by no means recommending to Jailbreak (google it if you are unaware what it is) however this seems to be the only way to solve your problem!

Hope this helped!

Thanks,

Max

I was under the same impression!

But I guess there is the unlock passcode under General Setting that can be one passcode that your child uses.

Then, if you go into restrictions, disable it first if you had it enabled with the same passcode, then you can re-enable restrictions and enter a separate passcode.

Luckily for me, my son is not really at the point where he is interested in what we don't want him to see. He showed me how to make these changes himself!

But at least now I feel better knowing he has safe use of his iPhone!
